Jehovah’s Witnesses And The Deity of Christ
Get ready to have your collective minds blown as this is the most crucial proof of my assertion that Jesus is God.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
“Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
So shall it be! Amen.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Note that the Alpha and the Omega is “Almighty”? Now I know that many Jehovah’s Witnesses will try to claim that this isn’t Jesus talking but Jehovah even though that would jump way out of the context of just Who is speaking here.
Okay I’ll bite…let’s play a little bit more shall we?
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
Okay so Jesus is the First and the Last. I don’t think any Jehovah’s Witness could disagree with that statement. However any student of Greek would know that Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. This would mesh quite well with the First and Last statement would it not?
A Jehovah’s Witness will argue that this is simply a coincidence and that Jesus being referred to as the First and the Last isn’t proof that He is God the Almighty.
Let’s check back to the old testament for some help here shall we?
Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:
“I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.”
So Jehovah refers to Himself as “the first and the last”. So can there be TWO firsts and TWO lasts? Was Jehovah first and Jesus came in second or is it the other way around?
What about the Jehovah’s Witness assertion that Jesus is a “little god”? Well this scripture completely rules that out doesn’t it? The only way that Jesus could be God would be if He was part of a cohesive whole.
“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
Apparently John knew what no Jehovah’s Witness does! That Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
Mystery solved and let’s face it. This isn’t much of a mystery to those who are sincere students of the bible.
Jehovah’s Witnesses love to misquote Christians as saying “It’s a mystery!” when referring to the trinity.
The only mystery here folks is that Jehovah’s Witnesses who say they study the bible can come to any other conclusion than what was laid out here for all to see using the scriptures.
I maintain that Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t study the bible. Instead they study the literature that the Watchtower puts out and that is where their so called “bible study” stops.
If anyone wishes to debate my findings I welcome them to do so.
Yours in Christ,
